About Airin
So you want to know more about me? I guess I can tell you some background info. ;)Let's see...for starters, my name is Airin, and I am 18 years of age (birthday April 12), and my name is almost like Irene but no, not with an r like Irene, but with a Japanese "r," being sort of like an "r-l" mix so it's much nicer sounding. I'm sure if you speak Spanish it may also be easier to pronounce as well.
Which brings on the next topic: I am Hispanic, my known languages being English, Spanish, and Japanese (in order of 1st-3rd language). My friends helped me with my Japanese growing up, as most of them only know English and Japanese themselves.
I am from Blackthorn City, and my favorite Pokémon is Charizard!
I grew up in Blackthorn City, but when I turned 10, I started attending Earl's Pokémon Academy in Violet City, where I learned how to raise Pokémon and how to become a trainer. From there, I became more interested in the raising part, and became interested in attending Pokémon Tech in Kanto at the age of 16. I applied to go there, and was glad to be accepted so I packed my bags and went on my way to start there that September in 2008, at the age of 17.
I had grown up used to a trimester system (school starting April 1-July, then September to late December, then January to early March) until I attended Pokémon Academy, so it felt odd moving to semesters, and starting in early August, but I adjusted, of course. Pokémon Tech runs by trimesters as well, but with longer breaks for those of us who are there for 'higher education,' rather than just starting out like the elementary/middle/high school aged kids. Yes, everyone goes to regular schooling as well and choosing to attend a Pokémon school meant that it was just something you were interested in, a magnet school specializing in that field. I'm here to become a Pokémon Breeder, to expand my knowledge of it, and to become official (Although, just like becoming a trainer, you can go out and become one instead of coming here to become certified to compete in the Pokémon league, but it was my personal decision to attend here anyway).
I am currently nearing the end of my last year at Pokémon Tech, and can't wait to go back home, as I only had the opportunity to visit my hometown briefly during our breaks, and even then, I wasn't always able to see everyone, like my best friend Hotaru, who went to become the new Pokémon Champion after beating Red, and left to live there. So, I haven't seen him since, but before he left, he gave me a bracelet like this one and I've kept and worn it since. I have heard that he will be coming back soon for an amount of time, but noone has told me when. Well, until then..I just can't wait to finish up this year and go back home!
